How to fix Apple Watch series 5 battery life

Many users expect the battery of the Apple Watch 5 to last for days, but the thing is that the battery lasts for about 18 hours. It means that you will have to charge your watch every day. However, if the battery lasts for just a few hours and you have to charge it more than once, you should make changes to the Settings. Many features can be adjusted to extend the Apple Watch Series 5 battery life.

Change Wake Screen Time

The best place to start is by changing the Wake Screen time. If you set it to 70 seconds instead of 15, the battery will drain faster. Here is how you can change this:

  • Open the Watch app on your iPhone and tap General on the “My Watch” tab
  • Now tap Wake Screen and select 15 seconds.

In addition, you can disable the “Wake Screen on Wrist Raise” feature.

Disable Push notifications

Notifications are not always friends to your smartphone; the same goes for your smartwatch. Too many notifications sent to the watch will impact the battery. You may disable some of them. Here is how:

  • Open the Watch app on your iPhone
  • Tap Notifications on the “My Watch” tab
  • You can now disable notifications for some apps.

Disable Background App Refresh

Apps on the watch can frequently be updated with new data if the background app refresh is on. While this is cool, it can drain the battery much faster, so you can disable the feature completely or disable it only for specific apps.

  • Open the Watch app on your iPhone and tap General on the “My Watch” tab
  • Now tap Background App Refresh to make changes.

Enable Reduce Motion

Reduce Motion is a feature that controls animations and other effects that can drain the battery, so you should enable it. Here is how:

  • Open the Watch app on your iPhone and tap General on the “My Watch” tab
  • Next, tap Accessibility > Reduce Motion
  • Swipe the button next to Reduce Motion to turn it on.

Unpair the watch and phone and pair them again

Here is another thing to do. Unpair the phone and watch and pair them again.

To unpair:

  • Open the Watch app on your iPhone
  • Tap on your watch on the “My Watch” tab
  • Now tap the info button (i)
  • Tap Unpair Apple Watch

To pair:

  • Place the watch close to your phone
  • A message on the iPhone saying “Use your iPhone to set up this Apple Watch” will show up
  • Tap Continue
  • Next, tap Start Pairing.

Make sure to make the changes we mentioned here so the battery on your Apple Watch can last much longer.
