LG Confirms 8k Resolution iMac will Launch in 2015

In a time where Apple is very effective at hiding all the details about their upcoming releases, it appears that LG and the other associates are not very good at keeping such secrets.

Many of Apple’s products are using panels which are made by LG. For this reason, it is very likely that the South Koreans will know in advance what projects are being developed by the giant from Cupertino.

Nobody expected a company so important will accidentally make public the future plans of Tim Cook’s company but unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened the other day.

It all started with a recently published article by LG Display, where they were presenting an impressive display with an 8k native resolution of 7680 x 4320 pixels.

It became clear that Japan is planning to launch an 8K VHS test transmission, and shortly after, they will restructure the Ultra HD service. Apple also announced that it will launch an iMac display with a super high resolution of 8K by the end of this year.

A look at an LG 8k display.

Although the article did not take anyone by surprise, the big surprise is the claim that the new display will be used in an 8K iMac which is supposed to be launched by Apple this year.

Clearly, Apple has never announced an 8k Resolution iMac and certainly it didn’t mention anything about the launches that could take place by the end of this year. On the other hand, it is possible for LG to be wrong and in fact there is no such product. But coming to think about it, last year the US Company launched an iMac with a native resolution of 5K and there is a high probability to see an upgrade on its resolution. It remains only to see whether the upgrade will occur in 2015 or 2016.
