Xiaomi to Follow Apple’s Footsteps in 3D Touch Technology

Apple’s 3D touch has gained a lot of appeal among smartphone users who are inclined towards regular advancements in technology. Chinese phone manufacturer Xiaomi shows no intention to stay far behind, and is rumoured to be coming up with similar technology for its phones as well. The phone company may use its in-house technology to develop the 3d touch technology but there are chances that it may collaborate with Synaptics to introduce the technology in smartphones.

The Clearforce technology developed by Synaptics has interested Xiaomi and Samsung, who are possibly in discussion with Synaptics to achieve touch technology similar to Apple for their phones.

Xiaomi has already patented its own version of the technology, which leaves us in less doubt of the fact the phone manufacturer would soon introduce the 3D touch technology in its future devices. The Clearforce display controllers allow the mobile phones to distinguish between different kinds of pressure being applied to the screen. It can empower smartphone users to access a variety of applications through the mere pressure applied by their fingers.

The technology of pressure sensitive display is likely to gain a huge audience because of the ease of use. The demands of smartphone users have increased and the proposition of pressure sensitive display in smartphones can hardly be ignored especially with Apple offering a similar technology to its users.

However, it is too early to know if Xiaomi will introduce the 3D touch technology in Mi5, which is scheduled for a launch in 2017.
